The Swedish Academy has announced that 2019 Nobel Prize in Literature has gone to Mr. Peter Handke, an Austrian novelist, on October 10, 2019. Mr. Peter Handke receives it for "an influential work that with linguistic ingenuity has explored the periphery and the specificity of human experience".

Indian-American Mr. Abhijit Banerjee, Ms. Esther Duflo and Mr. Michael Kremer have been awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics for their "experimental approach to alleviating global poverty".

Ethiopian Prime Minister Mr. Abiy Ahmed Ali was awarded the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize on October 11, 2019. The Norwegian Nobel Committee points out that the Award is the recognition for his efforts to resolve the long-running conflict with neighbouring Eritrea to achieve peace and international cooperation and more particularly for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with Eritrea.

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to Mr. John B. Goodenough, Mr. M. Stanley Whittingham and Mr. Akira Yoshino "for the development of lithium-ion batteries".

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded to three scientists Mr. James Peebles, Mr. Michel Mayor and Mr. Didier Queloz for "their contribution to the understanding of the evolution of the universe".

The Nobel Prize 2019 in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Mr. William G. Kaelin Jr., Mr. Peter J. Ratcliffe and Mr. Gregg L. Semenza for "discoveries that provide a better understanding of the way the human body senses and adapts to varying levels of oxygen".
