SOCIOLOGY—Paper II

Time Allowed—3' Hours Full marks—100

If the question attempted are in excess of the prescribed number only the questions attempted first up to the prescribed number shall be valued and the remaining ones ignored. Answer may be given either in English or in Bengali but all answers must be in one and the same language.

Answer any three questions from Group A and any two from Group B.

All Questions carry equal marks.

Group A

Answer any three questions.

1. Write a note on the issue of 'Deforestation' and its impact on Indian Social Life.

2. Discuss, briefly, the changing status of women in contemporary Indian Society.

3. Analyse the nature of social inequality in traditional Indian Society.

4. How far the traditional institutions of marriage and family are changing as a result of changes in other social institutions ?

5. "Running through various diversities is the thread of basic unity which makes Indian Society unique in itself " — Discuss.

Group B

Answer any two questions.

6. "Drug abuse is life abuse." — Do you agree with the statement ? Give reasons in favour of your argument.

7. Discuss the problems related to urbanisation.

8. What are the different types of youth agitation?
