SOCIOLOGY—Paper II

Time Allowed—3' Hours Full marks—100

If the question attempted are in excess of the prescribed number only the questions attempted first up to the prescribed number shall be valued and the remaining ones ignored. Answer may be given either in English or in Bengali but all answers must be in one and the same language.

Answer any three questions from Group A and any two from Group B.

All Questions carry equal marks.

Group A

Answer any three questions.

1. Write a treatise on indological and dialectical approaches to the study of Indian society.

2. Discuss criticallly the scenario regarding the position of women in Indian society.

3. Write a brief note on the backward communities in Indian society.

4. Describe the process of sanskritisation with special reference to the functionality of the modern economy.

5. Give a profile of the role and profile of the senior citizens in urban society in India.

Group B

Answer any two questions.

6. Discuss the issues of industrialisation and urbanisation in contemporary India.

7. Examine the scenario of population in India.

8. Write a note on child labour and.child abuse in present day India.
