►বৃষ্টিপাত নির্ণয় [Determination of Rainfall]:- কোনো জায়গায় কতটা বৃষ্টি হয়েছে তা বৃষ্টিমাপক যন্ত্র [Rain Gauge] দিয়ে মাপ করা হয় । শীতপ্রধান অঞ্চলে বৃষ্টিপাতের পরিবর্তে তুষারপাত হয় । ঐ তুষার গলে যে জল হয় তা মেপে সেখানকার বৃষ্টিপাতের পরিমাণ নির্ণয় করা হয় ।
►বৃষ্টিপাতের শ্রেণিবিভাগ [Classification of Rainfall]:- উত্পত্তির কারণ ও বৈশিষ্ট্যের পার্থক্য অনুসারে বৃষ্টিপাতকে সাধারণত তিন শ্রেণিতে ভাগ করা যায়, যথা:- [১] পরিচলন বৃষ্টি, [২] শৈলোৎক্ষেপ বৃষ্টি এবং [৩] ঘূর্ণবাত বৃষ্টি ।
